Welcome to our website for Gumbo Bottoms: A Big Muddy Musical, written by Meredith Ludwig and Cathy Barton. Our last stop on the tour was Columbia College in October of 2010. We were fortunate to take the show on the road to Hermann, Jefferson City and Washington, Missouri, as well the premiere stop in Boonville’s Thespian Hall. This web site will let you explore the history behind the musical, catch up on all the latest news and events with pictures and comments about the world premier of the show, follow our tour, and learn all about the cast and crew involved in this delightful production. We now have a short video from the premiere called Little Bit of Gumbo, and a review from our performance in Washington.
If your organization is interested in pursuing funding to bring the company to your town, we have great news. Gumbo Bottoms is now listed under Cathy Barton and Dave Para’s Missouri Arts Council’s touring roster which means that organizations interested in bringing the show to their towns can apply for up to $5,000 in matching funds. If you would like to find out more about this program please call Michael Donovan, Community Touring Program Specialist, at 866-407-4752 or email him at Michael.firstname.lastname@example.org.
